Horizon Home Relief Corp– Eligibility Requirements
Overview
Horizon Home Relief provides support to homeowners who have no remaining financial options to complete essential repairs or modifications to their primary residence. Assistance is limited to individuals who own and occupy their home and cannot obtain funding through traditional means.
We do not assist with rental properties, investment properties, or commercial buildings.
Who We Serve
Eligible applicants may include:
- Low-income individuals and families
- Elderly or disabled homeowners needing accessibility or safety modifications
- Households facing sudden financial hardship
- Homeowners with denied insurance claims, including those working with our partnered restoration companies
General Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for assistance, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Own the home where the work is needed
- Live in the home full-time
- Have received multiple contractor estimates requiring cash or credit payment, which is not feasible
- Have been denied financing through contractors or financial institutions (loans, home-equity line of credit, or other financing options)
- Insurance Claim Denials must provide the denial letter from their carrier stating the reasons for the denial. In the application please include all pertinent information regarding the claim (type of claim, reason for being denied)
Low-Income Qualification
In addition to general criteria, low-income applicants must:
- Provide household income from all sources in the application
- Provide asset information
- If selected for assistance, documentation must be provided to verify income and assets.
Financial Hardship Qualification
In addition to general criteria, financial hardship applicants must:
- Provide household income from all sources and all household expenses
- Provide asset information
- If selected for assistance, documentation must be provided to verify income and assets
